All UBC Engineering Co-op work terms are paid learning experiences. If you have a position but do not have the necessary funding to pay a student there may be assistance available.

 

Student Work Placement Program Overview The Student Work Placement program provides post-secondary students in technical (and some non-technical) programs across Canada paid work experience related to their field of study. The funds are distributed via multiple Employer Delivery Partners, each focusing on an area of expertise.
Eligibility
  • Position must be net new (defined as above and beyond normal hiring head count)
  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold Refugee status in Canada
  • Funding cannot be stacked with other Federal Funding (NSERC, IRAP, Federal Wage Subsidy, etc.)
BioTalent Canada Employers or positions within the bio-economy and bio-agro economy

Service Canada - Canada Summer Jobs program</h3 Canada Summer Jobs provides funding to help small businesses, public sector employers, and non-profit organizations to hire students during the summer term. Funding available to approved employers: up to 50 per cent of minimum wage for private companies and public sector employers, and up to 100 per cent of the minimum wage for non-profit organizations. Application period is in late January-early February of each year; employers are notified of the outcome of their application in May.
Innovate BC Tech Co-op Grant Program The Innovate BC Tech Co-op Grant Program provides funding for co-op employers in the BC technology sector to facilitate knowledge transfer and innovation.
