Your Co-op at Teck, Your Career Starts Here

We are looking for students whose ambition, drive and imagination can help us transform the mining industry. At Teck, we place high priority on developing the skills and knowledge of our co-op students to set them up for career success.

Our focus is on fostering environments where you will learn from some of the most experienced people in the mining industry. Teck will provide you with support to develop your skills and education to ensure your goals are met.

Teck’s co-op program introduces students to hands-on, real-world engineering experience with the goal of developing strong relationships and long-term career engagements with new graduates. Our work terms begin in January, May and September and can run from four to 16 months.

Here is what Hayden Spendiff, Mining Engineer-In-Training – Elkview Operations, has to say about his experience with Teck’s co-op and EIT program:

“It is important for Teck to hire co-op students because it mutually benefits students, the mining industry and the organization itself. The experience and training students receive through their co-op term helps develop better professionals that the mining industry needs. My Teck co-op was an important part of my education as a mining engineer. While working as a co-op I gained field experience and was able to apply my classroom learning to real-life engineering scenarios and challenges. Because of my co-op I was able to build my professional network and secure employment at Teck right after school.”

We are proud to have hired over 1,100 UBC engineering co-op students over the course of our long-standing relationship with UBC and look forward to meeting you in 2019.
